Ventilation is the process of providing or removing air from a room or space. This can be achieved naturally through the design of the building structure, utilizing windows and louvres. Alternatively, mechanical means, such as fans specifically designed for ventilation, can be employed.
Mechanical Ventilation Methods
We at Blutherm believe that Ventilation is the ignored element when it comes to designing our homes. Hence we strive in consulting and educating our customers on the importance of this concept.
- Exhaust Ventilation:: This method involves the use of exhaust fans to create negative pressure within the space. Slits and louvres on the exteriors allow fresh, positive air to enter and circulate.
- Supply (Fresh Air) Ventilation: This method entails pumping outside air into the house or commercial space, creating positive pressure. Excess air is expected to escape through door undercuts, gaps, and openings in the building's structure.
- Balanced Ventilation with energy recovery: This method involves both the extraction and supply of air through mechanical means, ensuring a constant balance of pressure within the house. The equipment used for this type of ventilation includes energy or heat recovery modules, which allow for the recovery of temperature and humidity while extracting and supplying air.
Importance of Proper Ventilation
Ventilation is a vital and dynamic process that operates in two directions. In order to ensure a continuous flow of fresh air, it is imperative that air is allowed to exit while simultaneously allowing new air to enter. It is crucial to recognize that both processes must work harmoniously together, as relying solely on one would be insufficient.
